About Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo & Company is an American multinational financial services company headquartered in San Francisco, California, with central offices throughout the United States.
Denied with a high 700 score near retirement. Odds seem? Yes, odds that Wells Fargo will simply damage your score. This blow to my credit sticks for two years, very long, truly painful hit.

I’ve also earned over $200 in savings interest by using 15 and 12 months of free float. (Not using Wells Fargo savings, though.) I keep a checking account open to grab credit card bonus interest whenever it reaches $25. Play by their rules, and you win big! So far, it's worth it.

Soon I ran into trouble with a company I paid every two weeks. I asked for a later payment option by email because I had no cash. I told Wells Fargo to hold off payments, and they said they would stop them. Still, the charges kept coming, and my balance kept falling. I ended up with many overdrafts and fees from a buy now, pay later site, and I could not cover any of it. My account was shut down, and I felt lied to as more overdrafts and fees showed up. I cant open another account, and at 74 I cant get direct pay into a new one either. I cant borrow money to pay them, since I have no bank account, and I feel betrayed by Wells Fargo. I still need help and fairness, not more losses ever.

Well Fargo is the worst. First, they changed the cashiers check policy, then they picked a fake merchant. The merchant showed up as a United States merchant in New York but really they were in China. They had the same site, the same address, and the same plan to fool people. WF wouldn’t let me start another claim after I got the goods. A person calling “Jasmine” or something like that told me WF wouldn’t allow it. I called WF and told them what happened in September. They sent a letter in October. I rang again and they said by Sept 10 there was already a decision. The notice from WF said the transaction was authorized; of course it was. I thought I was ordering from the real site and the sellers were posing as. I am so upset with Well Fargo. I’m closing my account as soon as I can move to my other bank. I’ve been with the other institution just as long as WF and never had an issue. The ONLY reason I stayed with WF was the pay schedule. get paid on Friday, you can have it by Wednesday or Thursday with direct deposit. WF is a headache that no one needs, especially with current political climate. According to these other reviews, October is not WF month and they need to do better. I hope more people leave reviews and say it’s not coincidence that so many have trouble. I will post this where allowed.

Title: Bank refused fraud claim despite proof and rules. I’m telling this because I’ve hit every internal road and the bank still won’t help. I disputed a charge within a day for a hotel stay I didn’t use, didn’t cancel, and didn’t get. The hotel wrote that the room was unused and not canceled by me. The supplier (Hotelbeds, based in Europe) lied and said I canceled and stayed. The bank took the lie and did not read the hotel’s note or my papers. A Wells Fargo agent looked at my file, agreed I shouldn’t owe it, and even faxed over proof including bad reviews of the vendor to the fraud team. I have that fax with the agent’s name. Still, the bank turned me down. I kept all notes, dates, and emails to prove it clearly. I tried small claims, but it failed since the vendor is overseas. BBB says Hotelbeds has an F rating and tells banks to help shoppers fix disputes. Wells Fargo refused. Under Regulation E, I have protection from liability for unauthorized money transfers if I report fast and get no gain. I met all rules. Wells Fargo ignored it. I filed a CFPB complaint and sent certified letters. No fix yet. If you’ve had a similar experience or know someone who can help, please share. People deserve protection—and accountability.

March Lane branch in Stockton, CA In December 2021 I rented a safe deposit box at this branch to store some jewelry and emergency cash. That setup felt uneasy right from the start. In January 2025, their maintenance crew drilled into my box by mistake, and afterward I learned several items, including cash and a few golden family heirlooms, were missing. The branch had no security footage to review the incident, which made it impossible to verify what happened. When I filed a claim, the bank manager and customer services dismissed my concerns. The bank’s lease limits liability to $10,000, far less than what I lost, and arbitration was the only option. That arbitration would cost me $10k–$15k in legal fees. Also the Lease Agreement says the sole resolution is Arbitration, so you cannot sue in civil court. This setup feels built to shield the bank, not the customer. The incident showed real flaws in security and accountability. I expected better protection for my valuables, but it turned into a nightmare. My loss is big. I’d urge lawmakers to revise the Arbitration Agreement to protect consumers. I also would urge others to consider private vault services or home safes with separate insurance instead of bank boxes. Last, I hope Wells Fargo improves their systems to prevent this from happening again. I don’t think Wells Fargo can sustain when they are not accountable for their own mistakes and poor management. Please fix this mess, and prove they can protect people who trust them with valuables again, without more excuses.
Shout out to Zen Tri Coups, you saved me and I got my money back.

Signed up with Wells Fargo for a rewards card and hoped for nice perks. Card worked fine for about a year. This month, I faced fake charges that the system spotted and asked me to confirm or report for fraud. I did. I closed the card and opened a new one. From the moment I spoke to support about my claim, I ran into trouble: 1. Agent A saw pending Cash Advance fees layered on top of the original fraud and sent me to Agent B to fix it. 2. Agent B said there were no Cash advances and sent me on my way. 3. The original fraud was added to my new account. (later refunded) 4. The fraud charge was duplicated, now showing twice on the new account. (later refunded) 5. A Mystery Cash Advances fee #1 showed up five days later, seen or not seen by Agents A and B. I called to report it as part of the fraud claim. (later refunded) 6. Mystery Cash Advance Fee #2 appeared two days later. (not refunded yet) -> That's when I asked to close the account. 7. Ten business days after my initial claim, I got an interest charge on one of the fraudulent Cash Advances. (not refunded yet) So over five calls and almost three hours, I'm stuck waiting for claims to settle so I can pay off the card and move on with life. To make things worse, the View Claims button in the app and on the website shows nothing about all that work above. I know credit cards and billing cycles take time, but Wells Fargo's Credit division left me chasing answers, never getting a clear full picture of what's happening with my claims, leaving me with over $1,700 in charges hanging over my head. I needed real receipts and dates, not more excuses. I just want this cleared up and a real plan to prevent this from happening again. Until then, I fear more charges could appear again.

I have been a customer for over a decade, someone got my debit card info and stole a big chunk of cash, leaving my account empty. Their answer is to wait up to ten days with NO money. I've hardly ever dealt with fraud, but in ten years this is their service. I tell everyone to stay far away from this bank!!! If this ever happens to you, they'll leave you and your family hurt too, with no effort to find the truth or fix the issue fast. Plus, agents and managers hang up on you, even when you stay calm and ask simple questions to get help. I'm changing banks as soon as I can!!! The whole thing feels uncaring and slow, and it makes me unsure about keeping any money there. I want a bank that notices problems, fixes them, and treats customers with respect, every day.
From my own deals I’m sharing this note. “This bank is the worst I’ve dealt with in our country. You’d be wise to shop around for your financial needs.”

Wells Fargo stole from me

Their worker said they sued me for a cc I was paying on until they closed it. I finally got on a payment plan to start paying off the card. I am under financial hardship and told them I paid when I could. I was not given notice, no contact, no call, no email. Last week they took $1311.74 from my account, which was rent money. My landlord had to wait until I got paid again. I called customer service and they were horrific. I asked for help, but I got none. This has left my family stressed and plans ruined.
Veloursblanc, you're the top pro around! They helped me, and I got my money back today.

Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!

Got their card and tried a balance transfer, but problems piled up for days and the balance stayed put. They kept sending me a link by text and when I said okay, I got an email saying I hadn’t replied and my text alerts were canceled. On the phone, I spoke with people who struggled to understand me. When I asked to be moved to a US-based rep, I talked to someone who clearly had an attitude, or someone else who felt lazy, and it just felt shady. It seems like a trap and they never move the balance so I miss out on the 0% rate. I'm thinking of filing with the Federal Trade Commission and making a complaint. This looks like a scam. Won't stop until they fix this mess now.

In fact, WF canceled the first one inside the app because it never showed up. The second was due yesterday, but it didn't arrive either. So I had to order a third one today. The nice news is the new cards work with the wallet feature, or else I would be in a tight spot right now. I hope they ship the next one soon anyway.

I said I did not recognize it. WF did not cancel my card or contact me right away. I finally reached their fraud team. The charge was from days ago. Card still active. While I was on hold, they asked about other transactions: did you make this one? No. How about this one? No. This one? No. What about this one from today, a cash advance on your WF card from your own bank? Wait—someone used my WF card details to hack my bank? Today? And there are no alerts? And what about those other 7 charges you asked if I recognized? No alerts on those either? Just the one alert about the single charge two days after the fact? Unbelievable. Even more unbelievable — WF STILL has not blocked my card and my account! No new card issued. I am tired of this runaround and the lack of help from WF. Buhh- bye Wells Fargo.
Awful bank. They billed me two late charges for an account was supposed to auto withdrawal. Won’t waive the fee. Also rude customer service.

Do NOT fall for the One Key Mastercard…
Watch out for Expedia's One Key Mastercard; it's a total trick. They run a hard credit check and you won't get the card right away. A complete waste of time and you lose credit points. Never again! They set you up to fall for it. Turns out Wells Fargo is behind it after all.
