Top customer service experience
Fraud team blocked a transaction, making things pretty annoying at the time. I told the support crew how I felt, and they offered a very satisfying and generous remedy too.

Rubbish website
Nice items, but rubbish site and no way to reach them for help. Took me more than an hour (plus I ended up making another account I won't use) to do something that should have been easy for anyone.

My wife and I hold joint depository receipts, and when we tried to accept their offer online, we found a bug in their system (which they admitted), and we could not process online, so we asked for paper documents to fill. They promised to mail the paperwork, and after several emails and phone calls, we are still waiting for the documents. I would not recommend this bank, even when they fix our problem later, because the whole process has been a mess and a waste of time!!!!!

Generally a good ethical bank
Mostly a nice ethical bank, they finally got their online setup up to speed over the past years after letting authentication for payments through the app and finally adding Apple Pay in the Netherlands. What I really dislike is that they still don’t offer iDIN (online ID) which every other bank e... Mostly a nice ethical bank, they finally got their online setup up to speed over the past years after letting authentication for payments through the app and finally adding Apple Pay in the Netherlands. What I really dislike is that they still don’t offer iDIN (online ID) which every other bank except Triodos has. This service is needed, for example, to verify yourself online in the Netherlands to a notary, for a mortgage, basically for any big life step, and it’s a real hassle without iDIN. I filed a complaint about that, and I didn’t like how they handled it. They say this is a niche service, but that’s nonsense. It is a critical service. You don’t need it often, but it is very annoying when you need it and it isn’t there. Aside from that, they are a decent bank, 5 stars if they fix iDIN, until then 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4). Still a bank I would recommend overall, really.

I chose to bank with Triodos for their ethics
I picked Triodos since I want to deal with honest firms and they fit that bill. I have had nothing but nice service from them. I PAY £3 per month for a current account, which is far less than banks that push overdraft costs. They are very helpful if a customer gets hit by a spammy company as I ha... I PAY £3 per month for a current account, which is far less than banks that push overdraft costs. They are very helpful if a customer gets hit by a spammy company as I have twice. Yesterday I received a payment Triodos had clawed back from Ozerty, and within 2 days of blocking my card to stop more payments to that firm I got a new card! I tell friends they are fair and easy to work with these days.

People call Triodos Bank an ethical bank, but I did not find that to be true for me. Before you open an account with them, read what happened with the trade of certificates during the Corona years. Before you open an account with them, read what happened with the trade of certificates during the Corona years. Internal choices at the bank chopped down the value of the certificates, and investors were kept from taking money out or having a say for about four years. Now trading has started again, but under a new one-sided setup from them, and the price has fallen a lot as trust dropped. Loss in my case was about 50 to 60 euros per certificate. After lots of pushing, they offered only 10 euros per certificate as compensation. Their reply on accountability felt weak at best and not fair to the damage caused by the poor leadership. I would tell friends to think and watch their steps, because the way they manage is not clear and I doubt they fix it.

I've never been able to access my ISA…
I can't get into my ISA online at all, these days. They still mail passwords on paper which takes forever. Their app won't work when I'm abroad, ever. They can't shut the account or send the money back, anyway. Support can't do more than the simplest automation, really. There is no number to call... It's impossible to talk with the Investments Team directly at all. Think twice before you choose Triodos for anything, days. For a comparison I use 4 business and two personal accounts online & by app without problems.

That bank is totally useless. Imagine moving funds to pay someone I owe, and for three weeks they stash it inside my account without any reason or heads-up, and I’m new there. Poor service and expensive.
Unhelpful staff and high charges. After many years as a client at this so called green bank I chose to move on. Prices are higher than rivals and staff give no details about policies and the many legal cases against the bank for holding customers' money. Moving my accounts elsewhere today.

Totally rubbish bank here. Been over a week now and they refuse to explain why my account is blocked and I can't touch my own money. I knew from month one this bank wasn't good; they asked me why I used the ATM taking cash????? It's not millions, just a small amount, so why would a bank do that? It may work for some people, but I doubt it. Be careful, folks, looks like a scam and they have no feel for their customers who pay fees for card services you barely get. Be aware, people. Oh yeah, thanks for making me homeless pretty much; I won't forget it and hope you get it back twice as hard. No one seems to care and I'm left with none of my money right now.

The money comes from my own PayPal account, something I’ve shown Triodos Bank with plenty of proof. Even giving more documents than needed to prove ownership, the bank stays stubborn and won’t release it. Their lack of cooperation and clear disregard for customers’ welfare is worrying. Not only did they refuse to give a real reason for the block, but they also ignored my financial needs. It feels like they’re keeping my money without cause. If you’re thinking of banking there, please reconsider. They have no reliable track record to justify such actions. If they can block my account and withhold funds despite clear proof, they can do it to anyone. Triodos Bank, consider this your final warning: release my funds in a week, or I will bring in my legal team. It’s wrong for a bank to use such power over customers. In short, steer clear of Triodos unless you want to risk unfair treatment and money kept unlawfully. I provided every paper I could, including screenshots, timestamps, and receipts, yet they still froze my account. If they would admit a mistake and explain themselves, I might feel less angry, but now the silence is worse. Until then, stay away and warn friends about this bank. That’s my final note, for now.

Seems like I've been with this bank for around five years now. I've had no trouble using it. The app is clear and easy to use. About a year back I faced a problem with my daughter's account, but a call fixed it fast for me.

Been with Triodos Bank for five years, and things have stayed smooth. They lag a bit on new tech, yet I still feel the small annoyances are worth it because of the good work they back. I can live with that.

I really wanted to like this bank but...
Honestly I hoped this bank would work for me and I've tried them for two years now. Today I quit and moved my accounts elsewhere. The issues stack up. Getting set up was a pain, and I never managed to get them to move my overdraft setup or to answer my request for an overdraft. Payments take ages... Their site is odd and awkward to use. There are two sites you must hop between depending on what you want. Today the last straw was them not sending a transfer I really needed. When I called, it looked like a fraud check, but unlike most banks they hadn't explained extra steps and just left the transfer undone. I spent ages on the line trying to sort it out. Their ethics might be decent, but this is no usable bank. I would not tell friends to try them now; choosing another bank seems smarter. I'm glad to have left before more problems showed up today.

I am waiting in line for 16 minutes to…
Stuck in a long queue, waiting to talk to someone, and the line just drops. The card they issue only works sometimes when you're outside Europe. You can't shop online from outside your own country or pay roaming, no cash at the desk, and no ATM either. The free account I signed up for is gone now... Service costs do not add up to actual service received
At first I had no trouble with service and Triodos felt like a breath of fresh air after ABN AMRO and RABO showed themselves as poor picks for people with daytime jobs. But fees for service shot up and I chose to close my account when I learned the daily ATM limit could not be changed under any c... But fees for service shot up and I chose to close my account when I learned the daily ATM limit could not be changed under any circumstance. When I called for help because I needed more cash than that limit, the staff behaved as if I had asked a very rude question. I'm with ASN now, which is much better and cheaper. Overall I felt relief switching to ASN, for sure.
