Very concerned

Feeling uneasy. I paid with Stripe about ten years ago. I had no more contact with them until today, when an email from link.com, claimed to be a Stripe branch, shows two payments I just made. This worries me a lot. Sneaky scammers are out there. Stay alert. Please be careful.

Stripe ignores Yourselfirst scam

Yourselfirst (a self-help site) billed me without consent and Stripe let it slide. No support, no refund, only quiet withdrawals. Looks like they defend scammers more than customers.

Charged $29.99 for a "free" test

Clicked the free trial on Yourselfirst, then Stripe charged me $29.99 right away. No receipt or consent. I never agreed to buy anything at all anyway.

Stripe ruined checkout

I was ready to close the deal, but Stripe crashed at the final step. Support offered excuses rather than fixes, and the refund never appeared.

Seems my bank info was stolen and a stranger used Stripe to set up Direct Debit charges without my go-ahead. Three different sums left my account in one week, then the DDs were canceled!!! I had to shut the account and start a new one to stop it from happening again. Stripe never rang or wrote to... Gosh, I wish I checked these comments first while I fumbled through making a payment link. I finally fixed it, used it one time. The buyer paid ages ago, and I still can't tell where the cash went. No updates, and no way to reach anyone. Totally stuck here.

I used stripe through my booking app…

I tried stripe through my booking app and my cash flow got ruined. You wait a whole week before you see the money. In this day and age, SumUp can move payments in hours. Stripe feels old and hurts your business badly

Hello Stripe Support, I need to share our strong dissatisfaction with how our manual payout has been handled, which we have chased for six days now. Despite steady effort, your team has not given a clear reason for why the payout did not go through. We were told many times to "check this time" or "wait until midnight," only to learn later that a problem was found, forcing us to cancel and restart the payout. The whole process has been tiring and inefficient. Because of these delays, a valuable client slipped away because we couldn't move funds on time. This is unacceptable and hurts how Stripe is seen. It worries me that frontline staff seem to lack direct contact with the senior team, and the senior group comes off unresponsive and dismissive of our urgent worries. This gap has left us stuck and unable to fix the issue quickly. We are very disappointed by this experience, and it is not clear who will take responsibility for the damage we have suffered because of your service failures. We have kept detailed logs and email threads showing Stripe support’s broken promises, and we are ready to take this matter to court to pursue payment for our losses. We demand an immediate fix to this issue, a full explanation of what went wrong, and a guarantee that it will not happen again. Also, we expect Stripe to address the money impact this has had on our business. Please handle this with the urgency it deserves and respond promptly. All records, chats, and email threads are saved, with dates and names attached. We expect real steps, not another delay or vague promise here. Please rewrite this review completely differently while keeping the same voice, tone, and outcome.

Even though we were fully checked and clear, Stripe froze our account and kept funds with no legal reason. They won't reply to emails or share any clear details. Don't trust on stripe.co.uk

Be careful with stripe.co.uk, don't rely on it. They'll grab all your docs and open the account, then once you start getting paid, they'll freeze things and send refunds to customers saying the business looks risky. Stay wary or you'll end up losing money and your time.

I trusted Stripe for more than a year, never having a chargeback or complaint, and then they suddenly shut me out, claiming my business carried an “unacceptable level of risk.” No extra clarity, no proof—just vague references to their internal processes. Also, their support was plain disappointing. Any request for why they marked the account as “high risk” got little more than canned replies. That lack of professionalism and respect for customers is just unacceptable. Bottom line: if you want clear, steady help, go somewhere else. Stripe paints itself as a modern, flexible payment partner, yet when it matters, they’ll leave you guessing and cut you off without a fair, clear explanation. If you value straight answers and real help, choose another option now. That would have helped me.

Stripe has wrecked my small company. They froze my funds with vague notes about 'unauthorized payments' and gave no proof to back it up. I’ve sent more than 20 messages in two weeks, and the only reply says they’ll keep the money forever, with no chance to contest. Since then, they’ve ignored eve... I’ve sent more than 20 messages in two weeks, and the only reply says they’ll keep the money forever, with no chance to contest. Since then, they’ve ignored every message I’ve sent. This puts both my firm and my clients in limbo. Stripe won’t release the cash or refund the customers—it’s totally unfair. Their support is basically gone, and how they’ve handled this mess is the worst I’ve seen. Watch out before you work with Stripe for your business! Stay away from them, seriously!

Steer clear of Stripe at all costs! I wouldn't tell anyone to trust Stripe. My run in with them has been a real nightmare. They are keeping my money and won't give it back without a real reason. Anyone else had this with Stripe? There are other processors out there, so I tell everyone to shop around. Stripe is the worst I have dealt with for payments, no doubt. Skip the stress and look elsewhere for a processor. #badservice #poorethics #donotrecommend Stripe. I wish I had tested other options before, since the delay hurts my work a lot. If you must, start with alternatives and ask about refunds upfront.

I have been emailing Stripe support for more than a week and still have no clear answer, yet they have blocked our Stripe account so we can't see who was charged or refund them. In my last message, I saw that the Stripe agent had sent a reply that came from ChatGPT! So not only is our Stripe account under threat, but Stripe staff are affecting our business by feeding our data into AI! I also wrote to their complaints team, but they don't seem to have a clue either! They sent us to Eventbrite, but Eventbrite says they did nothing on those dates and that the customers in question weren't charged. I just want the real charges fixed and our system back to normal right now.

They are out and out Fraudsters

They're pure scammers, pushing scams and theft toward people who never joined their fake scheme. Try to close your pretend account and they ask for your details like a long card number and the CVV, plus more. What a cheek. Avoid them as you would a nasty disease, to stay safe

I wish I could rate zero. They shut my account after testing the gateway! Funny, right, I mean seriously? I run a jewelry brand, all legal, nothing risky, even items near 300$. I asked my sister in germany to try the payment, and after she bought something from my site they closed the account at ... I wish I could rate zero. They shut my account after testing the gateway! Maybe they waited for the first sale to grab a free payout. They said your payout would show up after 30 years or so, haha. I feel dumb for trusting them after reading reviews here, thinking maybe they err or sell banned goods, but no, I was wrong to trust stripe. If you even see the stripe logo, RUN. I'm not saying don't use them, I'm saying if you hear stripe, just cover your ears and run as far as you can. Everyone warned about scams and high risk, but I still trusted them until the real mess hit, now I regret not listening and blame stripe more than ever.
