Skip ordering from this platform. I dropped £160 on several items in one go, and when I checked on my deliveries, my account got frozen and some orders never turned up. I dropped £160 on several items in one go, and when I checked on my deliveries, my account got frozen and some orders never turned up. The Etsy site gives no real help to argue or fix problems. It markets itself as a place for small sellers to reach buyers, but it's full of mass-made junk and shady scammers, with no real oversight because they lack staff, space, and rules to police it. You can't even find a simple email or phone contact for this awful site! Stick with Amazon or eBay, since the same stuff is sold there and you get protection as a buyer. Buying straight from independent creators would likely be better too. I regret this choice and warn others.

Be very careful ordering
Careful when ordering online, a seller I dealt with is a scam, takes your info and cheats people. The item isn’t right today. Fake!!

Not impressed as a seller so far tried…
Not wowed as a seller so far, tried to open a shop here, it charged my £11 fee in seconds and then it all went downhill. I spent ages trying to set it up, it wouldn’t let me, someone helped later and fixed it, and I’m still trying to open a shop and I can’t log in! Messages aren’t showing up, and... What an odd idea, and why isn’t there a video on how to sell on Etsy, because right now it feels dodgy, and I’m thinking about talking to my bank to cancel the payment. I also have proof I wrote to an engineer about this issue before the warranty ended. Not sure this will get sorted.

Good site
Honestly, I never ran into trouble with the site, support or customer service. The site always felt safe when ordering. I’m stunned and puzzled by so many bad reviews here… I’ve used Etsy for eight years, if not more, and I still don’t have a bad view of it in my mind.

If you run into a non receipt of order, it's very difficult to get a response from Etsy or the seller thru the Etsy app. Pain in the ass. Would not recommend ordering thru Etsy.
Unclear guide on what to do after missing my order, with no reply from the seller. No obvious steps to fix this situation, with no way to contact.

Bought a digital book from etsy.com. I never got the file. The site feels shady. Do not charge your card there. They will grab your cash and you won't get the book you paid for. AVOID - Dreadful customer service and no support.
Placed an order on Etsy that never showed up. I messaged the seller three times and only got an automatic reply. Etsy told me I could escalate after the last delivery date, but the app won't let me escalate for help. My trust in Etsy is gone. It ruined the trust.

Horrible costumer service
Placed an order, and soon after, my account was blocked for safety reasons. Getting in touch with support turned into a real mess. I ended up with representative Sylvia. Talking to her feels like the worst chat I’ve ever had, since this is ongoing. She seems to have all the time in the world, sin... Talking to her feels like the worst chat I’ve ever had, since this is ongoing. She seems to have all the time in the world, since she only replies once per day to the support email. Also, giving her the information she asked for seems pointless because she argues about which domain your email should be under. So you can imagine how long this drags on. It's been a week since I opened the support ticket, and still no resolution in sight. I just want this fixed and over soon. If not, I may have to push back.

Terrible customer service …
Quite a few orders on Etsy were cancelled, likely because they were scams - that is good. But then Etsy froze my account and, though I sent them the details, it's been almost a week since they blocked me with no reply so far.

Account Suspension for no reason
I tried to place an order and was told my account got suspended, with a note that I would receive an explanation by email. I never got that email, and there is no reason given why my account was shut down. Then the lack of customer support is the real problem. There is no way to reach anyone for ... Scam of a site
Shady site, feels like a scam. I never shopped on Etsy before and won't again. The delivery date passed by six days and the order can't be tracked. The helpline is useless too. Luckily I didn't spend much money there.

Someone hacked my account and bought two things.. they froze my account and forced me through a lot of nonsense to get it back, only for them to permanently suspend me a few days later.. They charged my card, I had the seller cancel the two orders, and they won't refund the money to my card.. the... They charged my card, I had the seller cancel the two orders, and they won't refund the money to my card.. they give store credit.. my bank will handle their shady habits.. I have been a seller for 11 years with no issues.. The way I was treated is totally crazy! Hope they fix it.

First, they charged me twice for the item and took $409.90 from my bank, and I have tried every support channel every day since Oct. 3, with no reply at all to fix my issue, the item was a rosewood URN for my wife's ashes, and still unresolved.

I've dealt with Etsy as both a buyer and seller, and in my view, this is one of the worst platforms on internet today. Etsy started as a place for small makers to sell their goods, but it has turned into a dumping ground for fakes and cheap, mass-made items from abroad, and a safe harbor for frau... Etsy started as a place for small makers to sell their goods, but it has turned into a dumping ground for fakes and cheap, mass-made items from abroad, and a safe harbor for fraudsters, counterfeiters, and AI. There seems to be no oversight, with sellers just as likely as buyers to fall victim to scams and frauds. Complaining (if you can even locate someone to talk to) is a long, pointless chore. And over the past decade, the big share of foreign sellers has only made things worse. I quit selling on Etsy long ago, and I hardly buy from them now. Honestly, I'm surprised they're still in business, and I can only guess the money they make from scammers helps them stay afloat. I would tell new buyers to avoid it if they want real trust and real value today.

It's worth the fairly high price for these unique pieces and the option to chat with them directly. Would buy again and recommend to friends. Nice gifts, thoughtful seller, happy with everything.

Etsy’s help system dragged on and felt useless. After I flagged a missing item, the seller went quiet. No replies, no updates, nothing changed. Still, Etsy stretched the case out without any hurry, showing they don’t care how long buyers wait for answers that never arrive. There was little real s... There was little real support, no solid follow-up, and no accountability. I spent days going in loops, ending up with no answer and no way to fix it. For a site that makes money from small sellers, they fail to shield buyers when things go wrong. Don’t expect quick help because you won’t get it. A bit more urgency would help. That delay truly makes you doubt using the platform again.

I've been a loyal etsy shopper for ages, grabbing many things from their site year after year. Now the site is full of AI noise that clogs the pages. Once I tried to buy something from a country they don't allow while I was traveling, to my usual address, and my account got shut down without a word. I never saw an email telling me why (as their help page says you should), and my appeal was denied after a few messages asking for details. When I tried to make a new account, that one was also shut down, again without explanation or warning. It's too bad their customer help is junk, the site freezes honest buyers who just want to buy, not crack down on fake dropshippers. They'll lose more and more customers the way they're headed. I'll switch shops and tell friends not to wait.

The mug I received looked nothing like the photo and listing description. It took days for the seller to respond, and the resolution felt half-hearted. I finally got a replacement, but the whole experience left me frustrated.
