Big Cartel's checkout kept timing out, and I never got a clear error message. I spent hours trying to publish a store update, only to have pages fail to load and orders go missing from the dashboard. Customer support took days to respond with generic tips that didn't fix anything.

I see all the negative reviews, for sure!!!! I run a nice small shop and this site is sad in every way! They aim to take high fees and then they won't help you quick when the tools go nuts. I sat in chat for two hours the other day waiting on a very simple reply from a team member. Other creators... I see all the negative reviews, for sure!!!! I sat in chat for two hours the other day waiting on a very simple reply from a team member. Other creators like Shopify. Do not waste your time or give more money to Big Cartel. I have been with them since 2022 and done over 30k in sales. I always kept an annual plan and my plain talk on Saturday took about 5 hours to get a helpful answer. I stand with other one star folks, you need a better way to fix issues for us who get service. If that means quick chats, cool. But it is clear that this isn't working for you here at Big Cartel. No matter how they reply here, stay away. Save your cash and switch to a platform that will back you! So I say, move on and find better support!

Fabulous site, I’ve been using Big Cartel for years…
I’ve used Big Cartel for years and it fits perfectly. First I started with the free option, then moved up to a paid plan with stock. There are no hidden fees and 0% taken on sales, only the monthly or yearly charge. I’m an artist and I love how my chosen theme looks; it’s very visual. Customers c... There are no hidden fees and 0% taken on sales, only the monthly or yearly charge. I’m an artist and I love how my chosen theme looks; it’s very visual. Customers can view the art right away and there are four extra images if needed. Any questions I’ve had with the site, which have been few, were answered quickly by a friendly support team and fixed. I don’t get the negative reviews, in my experience it’s been a nice shop window and site for me. I’d recommend it, truly.
Seems the platform team is in the hands of imbeciles now. It worked great for years, but lately the last few months have had one absurd glitch after another. We're moving all client sites away from here to Shopify for good.

We never got the item we ordered and no one answers us. Our software should have shown up by email within half an hour to a day. I wouldn't tell others to shop here at all.

Intuitive, easy to use, simple clean designs
Clear, easy to use and plain. I'm an artist and sell prints and original pieces. I set up my shop on the couch at my mother-in-law's house in 2019/2020 and have used it for five years now. There are limits - but if you're new, it's a perfect pick. It helped grow my tiny art shop.

Any company that hides their address…
Any firm that keeps its address and number hidden won't offer support. Sorry about that. I label them untrustworthy. I was thinking of starting a shop, yet I won't, without a way to reach someone. Avoid them.

rasied prices - greedy and not a great platform
Prices went up again and I think they ignore the people who stuck with them and paid for the store even when sales were low. Asked for a discount coupon and they said no. I'm tired of sticking with a company that shows no respect for the seller. I want fair prices. From $9.99 to $15.99, that jump... I checked a few options like Squarespace and Shopify, but this service felt right for me. Setup is pretty easy, and being able to pull in my Etsy listings saves a lot of time. Only hitch was pointing a domain to the store, but Big Cartel's support did a solid job sorting that out. I would say the dashboard and the designer could use some tweaks, and the templates feel a bit basic in how they work and look. More control over SEO would be good too, but so far I'm happy with everything. Sometimes the page builder feels basic, but it does enough. Glad I found a place that fits my prints and budget. Overall, it works well for me.

Big Cartel is really easy, I’d tell you to try it, plenty of themes for a site, no stress, affordable and the support is excellent for beginners to start.

Quite helpful for small shops online. If you’re starting out, I’d suggest it, really easy to set up, and cheap. One point: it could offer more design choices. This has happened to me several times in my ten years of collecting posters. Try another option. As a frustrated buyer. And I am still unhappy. Please switch… for the fans.

Being a libertarian, I value personal freedom a lot, really. Yet when it comes to a company, people shouldn't have to see what folks there support in their own lives. Here's what I heard after asking about my order. Do not buy anything; it's a scam. The package vanished in transit, sorry, we'll refund 30%. Not a good outcome, not good enough.

Purchased a Ludo doll from WolfTummy
Picked up a Ludo doll from WolfTummy. WolfTummy didn't ship, refused refunds, and blocked me on social media. BigCartel wouldn't get involved at all.
